Extensive Gap Year experience
Over the past two decades, we’ve guided more than 6,000 students through the experience of their lives. That means we know exactly what makes the perfect gap year experience for young adults wanting to be a part of something bigger.

We’re based in local communities across the globe to ensure we create lasting change. Our intricate knowledge of the people and the challenges they face mean that we can shape programs that make a positive impact on the community.
Ethical gap year programs
As part of the FutureSense Group, at the heart of everything GapGuru does is our charity, the FutureSense Foundation.
The FutureSense Foundation is a registered charity (UK no. 1132101) that supports community development in some of the world’s poorest regions. The charity is aligned with the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development and is committed to implementing long-term programs where ethical and sustainable impact is at the core.
With a team based year-round in each country, FutureSense works hand-in-hand with the local communities, delivering programs that address the actual challenges they face to make a long-lasting impact.
Our partnership with FutureSense ensures that anyone embarking on a GapGuru program becomes part of something bigger and helps to deliver truly sustainable community impact.
Community at the core
Our Gap Year programs have the best of all worlds, independent, impactful travel with a support network that’s there for you, whenever you need it.
Our GapGuru mentors are with you in-country and are so much more than emergency contacts. They’re your friendly faces, always on hand and keen to show you the ropes. Whether you need help with lesson planning, tips on which foods to try, ideas for your weekends, or even if you’re feeling a bit homesick, your GapGuru team will make your stay as enjoyable and easy as possible.
