While the importance of STEM education is globally recognised, it is currently not embedded in formal curriculums in many of the schools in communities where we work due to ‘Rote Learning’. Access to education and opportunities in STEM, opens the door to a wider range of ideas, perspectives, and solutions.

In our STEM Impact Area, we emphasise developing soft skills to build confidence, foster aspiration, and encourage the joy of learning. You’ll help break down barriers and stereotypes, demonstrating how participation in STEM can drive innovation. Your efforts will contribute to building a more dynamic, inclusive future.

Cambodia

In Cambodia, we engage students in sessions that bring out new types of learning and provide opportunities to expand their education. Activities surrounding STEM provide students the opportunity to problem solve, engage in team or group work and allow for leadership opportunities, and see critical thinking skills sharpen.

In Panama, we’re introducing students to innovative learning techniques. STEM activities offer students the chance to enhance problem-solving skills, engage in teamwork or group projects, and develop leadership abilities, particularly among young girls, while also refining their critical thinking skills.

In Tanzania, we aim to engage students in sessions that introduce new approaches to learning and offer opportunities to broaden their education. In Nepal, we focus on igniting curiosity and creativity, and focus on engaging learners, and especially girls, in STEM Education and life skills workshops that allow them to learn in a more hands-on environment, develop their critical thinking skills and become more engaged in their education!

In India, we focus on running STEM activities that foster life skills, aiming to build children's confidence and encourage transferable skills like problem-solving, conflict resolution, teamwork, career planning and leadership.

Peru

You will inspire students to enjoy education through engaging activities. Since rural communities in the Sacred Valley have limited economic opportunities, our focus is to inspire children to continue their learning. These skills are essential for children to enter secondary school and then later on gain employment, breaking the poverty cycle.
