GapGuru’s International Internships are immersive, 4–12 week gap year experiences for students who want more than travel alone.
Structured, supported, and ethically rooted, each Internship allows you to slow down, integrate fully, and gain hands-on experience that feels purposeful, challenging, and genuinely impactful.

All Internships take place with organisations supported by our international development non-profit partner, the FutureSense Foundation. Placements support long-term, community-led initiatives—ensuring your contribution is ethical, meaningful, and sustainable.

College Credit

International Internships allow to transform real world experience into academic gains. Up to 9 transferrable US college credits are available, and up to 16 UK UCAS points.

Support, Safety & Mentorship

Internships are independent—but never unsupported.

  • In-country teams living and working locally year-round
  • Pre-departure preparation and local orientation
  • Ongoing mentorship and regular check-ins
  • 24/7 emergency support and clear safety protocols
