A Gap Year You Can Feel Good About

My GapGuru trip to Panama pushed me out of my comfort zone and repeatedly challenged me , from workshops in schools where my confidence grown to planting trees in Venao where i learned to be resilient, the programme showed me a beautiful country filled with pretty views and a vibrant culture . I met some incredible people and couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity.

This experience was truly life-changing. Teaching felt like I’d discovered a new part of myself. Connecting with a new culture in such a personal way really opened my eyes. The connections I built with the children along with the lifelong friendships I made was truly heartwarming and I will cherish those moments forever. It was an unforgettable adventure that will always hold a special place in my heart.

My trip to Thailand was a truly wonderful and unique experience. It allowed me to travel such an interesting country through through the unique lense of volunteering which really enriched my traveling experience and helped me get a better understanding of the culture and people. It’s something I would absolutely do again.

There were too many positives about the trip to name them all! The entire future sense team in Thailand were AMAZING, and helped us not only with the programme, but also with the prospect of travelling abroad by ourselves! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my gap year and I am so so grateful to GapGuru for giving me the opportunity to experience such a beautiful part of the world with such amazing people!!

It was one of the best 6 weeks of my life that I will be thinking back on forever. The people I met and continue to talk to as well as the new culture and personal growth that was continually evolving and growing since the first meeting. I hope soon I will be able to go back to Thailand and help out as a mentor as my mentors were huge influences in the success of the trip

This was an amazing experience, loved every second even through the challenges. Working on improving the environment and volunteering at the park where so rewarding but also the workshops carried out as a team where great to experience.

This was such an amazing experience that changed how I look at the world and taught me more about what it means to be a global citizen. It also made me realise how much I want to travel in the future.

I’d highly recommend this experience to any students. Not only does it look great on a CV but it was tremendous fun to do as well. Overall, a really fantastic experience.

Absolutely amazing. Any issues I had in organising the trip, eg flights or vaccines, they told me exactly where to go for the best info. I was completely prepared for my trip, what I would be doing, and the expectations. I learnt so much and had an amazing time.
